HEARING AID CHECK-UP
Approximate Appointment Time: 15 Minutes
A hearing aid check-up includes a deep cleaning and ensures that the hearing aid is functioning appropriately.
During this time, microphone covers, domes and wax filters are changed. wipes it down and cleans inside the hearing aid. Followed by a sound quality check. This is a check done to make sure the hearing aids speakers are in proper working condition.
HEARING EVALUATIONS AND CONSULTATION
Approximate Appointment Time: 45-60 minutes

Hearing Screenings
Diagnostic Evaluations
A hearing screening is a baseline screening to establish a general idea of the hearing status.
A diagnostic hearing evaluation is a 3 part hearing test that determines the type and degree of hearing loss.
Once the screening or evaluation is complete, Dr. Emily will review results and provide recommendations.
HEARING AID FOLLOW-UPS
Approximate Appointment Time: 45 Minutes
A hearing aid follow-up is to assure that the patient is satisfied with their hearing aids. During this appointment, Dr. Emily makes any adjustments needed and continues to educate on the hearing device.
COCHLEAR IMPLANT CANDIDACY EVALUATION
Approximate Appointment Time: 90-120 minutes
A Cochlear candidacy evaluation is an in-depth speech test that is for patients with a certain type of hearing loss. This evaluation is either recommended by an ENT or by Dr. Emily after a diagnostic evaluation is completed.
This evaluation determines if the patient qualifies for a Cochlear Implant.
COCHLEAR IMPLANT ACTIVATION AND PROGRAMMING (MAP)
Approximate Appointment Time: 90-120 Minutes
Cochlear implant activation appointments are scheduled 4 weeks post surgery. This is when Dr. Emily activates the processor, establishes his/her levels by conducting a MAP and reviews the cochlear implant components and accessories.
Follow up MAPs are scheduled 1-2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year from the patient's activation date. These appointments help to optimize the cochlear implant patient access to sound by adjusting the input of the processor.
CUSTOM HEARING PROTECTION
Approximate Appointment Time: 15-30 minutes
Dr. Emily makes impressions of the patient's ear canal.
Nautilus Hearing will order the hearing protection item for the patient and fit him/her with it once it arrives to ensure it fits properly.
CUSTOM IN-EAR MONITORS
Approximate Appointment Time: 15-30 Minutes
Dr. Emily will take impressions of the patient's ear canals.
Nautilus Hearing will specially order the monitors for the patient and will schedule a follow-up appointment to ensure proper fitting.
